Robots with the same features but in different shapes should be treated differently. Human shape in the robot design brings extra burdens on users. Mistreating humanoid robots could be dangerous for humans. Such behaviors could indirectly and sometimes directly harm humans. To ensure the interests of humans, humanoid robots should be protected more than other types of robots.

In a New York Times article commenting on the opening of the factory of Agility Robotics, there is a sentence: "the long-anticipated robot revolution has begun" (Howe and Antaya 2023). As we can see from the selection of the recent news, humanoid robots might soon populate our world. At the same time, the ethical literature about human-like robots is full of concerns and underlying risks of having such robots around. For example, Alsegier points out that human-like robots are "one of the most controversial facets of modern technology" (Alsegier 2016: 24). Russell notes that "there is no good reason for robots to have humanoid form. There are also good, practical reasons not to have humanoid form" (Russell 2019: 126). Darling, in her book about robots, points out, "The main problem of anthropomorphism in robotics is that, right now, we aren't treating it as a matter of contention" (Darling 2021: 155). She believes that there is not enough discussion about this and that we are deploying robots without fully understanding the impact of anthropomorphism on people. The more human-like the robot is, the easier it is to anthropomorphize it (Gasser 2021: 334). The fact that we have already got used to robotic vacuum cleaners, smart speakers, and delivery robots does not mean that the natural step is to accept human-like robots. Humanoid robots, with their human likeness, bring additional ethically relevant issues that should be discussed first. In this book, I focus on the ethically qualitative shift in designing robots that resemble humans. Throughout the book many questions will be asked that relate to ethical issues of human likeness; among these are: Is it safe to have human-like robots around us? Who would human-like robots represent, and why should it be a matter of concern? To what extent are human robots achievable? Is it ethical to have too human-like robots? Could robots have human-like ethics? Could robots be responsible in a human-like way? How should we treat robots that look like us? How should we treat robots that are like us? How do we mitigate the risks resulting from human-like robots? All these questions will be covered in the chapters that follow. In recent years, numerous books with a focus on the ethical aspects of robots have been published. Besides the already mentioned book by Kate Darling, there are many other great books published (e.g.

That connection strengthens the claim that robot rights will be more nuanced, fragmented, and varied from country to country compared to human and animal rights. The crucial distinction between robot rights and human and animal rights is that robots do not yet (and may never) possess properties that ground their moral and legal status. All humans are entitled to protection and certain rights simply because they are members of the human species. In the case of animals, sentience and their possibility of feeling pain allow a universalized expectation of unified legal protection. The absence of similar characteristics does not preclude robots from being granted rights; instead, it places the source of potential rights in different rationales. Those non-properties-based approaches may have less conviction power for initiating changes in different cultures, making it improbable for something like a Universal Declaration of Robots Rights to emerge. It is more probable that robot rights will be geographically diverse and culture-dependent.

Do we need the criminalization of medical fake news?

Fake news is dangerous in many spheres, including that of health. For example, we are facing an increase in the amount of vaccine hesitancy. This has been w considered by the World Health Organization in 2019 as one of the greatest threats to public health. This specific phenomenon is linked with the spread of information on the Internet around that issue. In this paper, I discuss a proposition of new crime, which has the aim of fighting medical fake news by stopping its spread. This proposition should be considered only if other non-criminal measures are inefficient. The proposal is “Whoever publicly disseminates information evidently discrepant with medical knowledge is subject to a penalty.”

A failed attempt to radically reduce inter-court sentencing disparities by legislation: Empirical evidence from Poland

Sentencing disparities are widely covered in the literature on common law countries. In comparison, the literature on sentencing disparities in civil law countries is less extensive, and the literature is even more scarce in post-communist countries. Nevertheless, sentencing disparities exist in all of these countries. One of the goals of the 2015 criminal law reform in Poland was to limit sentencing disparities. This study compares trial outcomes from before and after the reform. We examine files from district courts in 13 cities in Poland for two offences: drug possession and drunk driving. Our findings demonstrate that there are significant differences in sentencing across courts, even in courts that are situated in the same city. The reform has changed the structure of the punishments but has not radically reduced sentencing disparities.

Two of these universities are financed by the government and the other two are financed from students' fees. Our paper critically examines the history of clinical legal education in Poland. It also assesses the economic, legal and social background to the differences and similarities between clinical legal education and legal practice. Furthermore, the paper explains how learning outcomes have led to law clinics becoming a pedagogical and professional treasure trove for individual clinical students and the wider law faculty. The results of this research will demonstrate the invaluable role of learning outcomes to clinical education and professional development. Therefore, the paper will suggest that the methodology of clinical legal education can be employed as a model for Polish higher education.

Electronic surveillance in light of the novelisation of the criminal law
Electronic surveillance is functioning in the Polish legal system since 2007, however, an novelisation of the criminal law of 2015 completely changed his usage. Nowadays electronic surveillance is used for the purpose of punishment of restriction of liability and for criminal and safety measures. Previously a main usage was connected with short-term imprisonment sentences. The provisions on electronic surveillance become part of the Executive Penal Code.
There is division into 3 types of electronic surveillance: stationary, proximity and mobile. This article discusses various types of electronic surveillance and indicates some problems that may arise during the functioning of the new provisions

Abstract
The article raises the issue of criminal responsibility for a traffic accident involving a driverless car, steered automatically. Work on driverless cars has been carried out for many years, and for several years these cars have been tested even on public roads. In the near future it will be possible to allow them on to public roads (for general use). This will be linked with changes in many areas of law, including criminal law. The author raises the issue of potential criminal responsibility, both at the present time,
when such vehicles have not yet been allowed onto public roads for general use, and in the future when they will be allowed to run on our roads.
